Kagoshima Junshin Girls’ High School Group

A group of 24 girls and two teachers arrived at Darfield High School on 30 October. This is the fourth time Kagoshima students have visited our school. We were delighted to welcome Mr Alistair Turley and Miss Yumiko Ninomiya back for the second time. The group participated in many activities, including English lessons, visiting the Antarctic Centre, Rubicon Farm, Akaroa and Darfield Primary School. The girls were all outstanding and made friends with everyone they met while they were here. A celebration dinner was held mid-way through their visit and this was a very friendly occasion. At these dinners we usually say ‘sayonara’ to the students, however they had five more days to spend with us and we finally said goodbye at an afternoon tea the day before they left, and the students received their certificates. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Kagoshima Junshin and to welcoming another group here next year.
