In the heart of rural Canterbury, our Years 7–13 students discover who they are, strive for excellence, and learn to serve their community — guided by the values that make Darfield special.

Darfield High has a proud legacy of inspiring young minds through inclusive, values-based education. Since 1951, we’ve been dedicated to developing confident, capable learners prepared to thrive in a changing world.

At the heart of our school is a supportive community where tradition meets innovation. Students are empowered to grow academically, socially, and personally in an environment that values connection, integrity, and opportunity.

Welcome

There is more than
one way to be Darfield

At Darfield High School, there is no single path. Whether you are in Junior (Years 7–8) building strong foundations or Senior (Years 9–13) specialising for your next step, you will find challenge, support, and room to grow.

We are a co-educational state school with a proud rural character, just 40 minutes from Christchurch — close enough for opportunity, far enough to focus.
